The Movie “Drive” Marks an Anniversary on Sept. 16.

The neo-noir thriller, “Drive,” a strong relationship drama, was released on Sept. 16, 2011. The driver without a name is a quiet and sweet loner movie stunt driver. In his in his off hours, he chances to drive criminals on jobs.

“Drive” is a star-crossed and subtle romance between two young adults who deserve warm companionship.

Memories aren’t perfect. But I remember the sweet and quiet scene in which the driver drives then-single mom Irene on a tour of the city of Los Angeles. With instrumental music, this scene helps to strengthen their mutually warm feelings for each other.

Albert Brook’s Bernie character is made human by being a relatable criminal and confessing to Bryan Cranston’s Shannon character that he was getting excited about the racecar venture. The tragedy of crime boss Bernie killing Bryan Shannon with a razor to his arm. Shannon made one too many ego-based poor choice.

I enjoyed the subtleness and sweetness of that which could have been a grittier and more brutal crime story.
